Attend the intro group call on Friday night at 8pm eastern time. Meet the workshop leader and the other writers in the group! This lasts about an hour and gives everyone a chance to introduce themselves, share a little bit about their story plans (for those who are comfortable doing so), and ask any questions.
Wake up a weekend warrior and start writing your children’s picture book! Your draft will be written from start to finish on Saturday and Sunday during the workshop. The workshop guide will be your coach and help you by answering questions and giving support and advice as needed as you write. They will also be available live over Zoom to chat anytime you need to ask a question, only taking breaks for mealtime! Just flip your microphone on and ask away. That’s right, your coach will be there in the trenches with you for the whole journey!
Finish by Sunday evening at the latest! Finish your draft by Sunday evening, and you’ll unlock hundreds of dollars of coupons to use at top children’s book editing, marketing, and illustration services and more! Most workshop attendees have finished a solid draft by Saturday afternoon and mostly focus on polishing it up on Sunday with the help of the editor leading the workshop.
“Wow! I never thought that I would write a children’s book in a weekend and that it would be fun, but I did and it really was! Just for the record, I came in without any story idea, just a character, a mouse. The structure of the workshop gave me a framework to work with, enough time to think of something for the mouse to do, write it, and then get valuable and ongoing, professional feedback over the course of the weekend that made it possible to keep going in the right direction. My book ended up being about a mouse with a message and as it turns out, children’s books can be more than just entertainment. Now I am looking forward to seeing my story turned into an actual physical book!”

“My wife and I have always wanted to write a picture book. We learnt about PBW and we were skeptical because… is this real? Can we really do this in a weekend? Well, fast-forward to now: not only is our book finished, we’re in the process of having it fully illustrated and it will be live soon! Don’t think about this twice: join now! You won’t regret it one bit!”

“What a fantastic weekend! I came into the workshop with one idea and ended up happily pivoting to another because I was feeling especially playful and inspired. Lenore helped me with her kind, thoughtful, constructive, and encouraging feedback. She gave me the space and time to really think about my protagonist and develop my story and I appreciated that tremendously. She is a fantastic and experienced teacher, who has truly navigated the world of book publishing. I was especially inspired when she shared examples from her own published books, as well as from other authors, while guiding us through the process of creating our own children’s picture books. I left the two-day workshop with a wonderful protagonist, a plot, an outline, a storyline, and some exciting beginning dialogue for my book. I now feel energized and inspired to continue developing it and I’m looking forward to seeing it published one day! Thank you again, Lenore, for such a wonderful and inspiring workshop!”
